Medion has achieved another milestone in expanding its global presence after obtaining Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from the Veterinary Department, Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Iraq. The certification is an important requirement in the product registration process, allowing Medion’s vaccines and veterinary pharmaceuticals to be marketed in Iraq. Prior to receiving the certification, auditors from the ministry conducted a GMP inspection at the production facilities of PT Medion Farma Jaya on February 16, 2026.
During the inspection, the audit team assessed multiple aspects of the manufacturing process, including production facilities, quality management systems, and the implementation of operational procedures. While GMP standards are broadly aligned with international practices, each regulatory authority may have its own priorities and evaluation approach. As a result, careful preparation and strong coordination were essential to ensure clear communication of technical aspects and to avoid potential differences in interpretation during the inspection.
More than a regulatory process, the visit also marked an opportunity for Medion, as an animal health company, to demonstrate its growing capabilities to international partners. With modern manufacturing facilities and a consistent commitment to GMP implementation, Medion continues to strengthen partner confidence while creating broader opportunities for its veterinary vaccines and pharmaceuticals in the Middle East market.
